For todays batch, I worked on getting closer to the flowers to eliminate most of the background. I wanted to keep the color and the texture strong too, whilst keeping it all in focus.
Design Portraits This week we worked on Design Portraits, these are essentially portraits that focus on the on the background, lighting and texture as much as they focus on the person. My goal main goal was focusing on light, shadow and texture in order to replicat e the work of Corbjin, however I ended up using light boxes and turned it into more of a still life project with the same goals of Light, Shadow, and Texture.
Artist Statement This set is made up of some of my favorite pictures from the last four drafts of my cityscape project. This pictures have been photographed and edited over the course of the past month. These all share a lot in common, firstly the backgrounds in each picture were all taken from the same spot and they were all taken within 30 minutes of each other. The fact that backgrounds were taken at a similar times means that a lot of the lighting in each picture is the same. The top layer (the face) is also used more than once and many of them are used several times. The pictures were also all edited in the same manner, adding to the similarity.
Symmetry For this project we were assigned the goal of finding and taking pictures that represent symmetry, balance, and asymmetry. Symmetry in a picture basically means that one side of the picture will be the exact same as the other. It is essentially a mirror of the other side, this can be achieved though editing or by simply finding something that is symmetrical. Balance is when in a picture there can be two object that look similar, but their weighting in the picture is different from each other creating a differential in balance. Asymmetry is when there is an object that has two side thats are different from each other, or not symmetrical. Symmetry Asymmetry Balance
