Symmetry
Symmetry
For this project we were assigned the goal of finding and taking pictures that represent symmetry, balance, and asymmetry. Symmetry in a picture basically means that one side of the picture will be the exact same as the other. It is essentially a mirror of the other side, this can be achieved though editing or by simply finding something that is symmetrical. Balance is when in a picture there can be two object that look similar, but their weighting in the picture is different from each other creating a differential in balance. Asymmetry is when there is an object that has two side thats are different from each other, or not symmetrical.

This really illustrated what your normal city life looks like.
ReplyDeleteI like how this series is primarily black and white, with a few muted colors. It makes the few bold colors really pop out, like the green and white railings view from the courtyard and the yellow stripe on the pavement.
ReplyDeleteI really like how you used the shadows to make the photos so simple yet so complex.
ReplyDeleteThe framing on all of the photos are well done, I like how the subject is often in the center of the frame, without taking up the whole frame. The black and white filters also do a good job of showing the shapes being reflected well.
ReplyDeleteThe last photo looks very interesting and mysterious with the dark figure right in the middle of the photo. It also looks nice how the dark figure is right next to shadows.
ReplyDeleteI like your pictures of the city and the darker theme you use especially with the black and white
ReplyDeleteYour symmetry photos are good and your ability to demonstrate them in both black and white, and also in color is great. I really like how each image displays a different depth and angle which is really interesting. Nice work!
ReplyDeleteI really enjoyed all these photos and in particular the one of the shoes in your section of symetry. I really like how the black and white lets the white pop in the picture.
