Winter 3

Image
Winter 3 This week we were continuing our winter projects. The weather was pretty bad the first two days, which I felt made it harder for me to take good pictures. However on the last day it was nice and sunny, which I think made for better pictures. I have continued to edit my photos the same as the past couple weeks, but I have been looking for photos that work, specifically older looking buildings with fading colors, that also have some bright color or interesting design.

Winter 2

Winter 2 This week we were continuing what we had been working on last week. This week I was trying to focus on finding buildings and places that work best for this project, instead of just taking pictures and editing them. I found some places that work really well, I also found that weather can help make the pictures look good, this week the weather was not great, but the pictures still came out nicely. I have kept my method of editing pictures pretty much the same with the few exceptions, for the next draft I plan on keeping looking for new places and building that look good.

Winter 1

Winter 1 For this project I am trying to replicate the work of the famous photographer and film maker, Wim Wenders. I am trying to figure out how to take and edit pictures to make them look like his. I have been using a 35mm lens which I have found to have been helpful, however most of Wenders pictures are taken in a desolate run down area, which there aren't many of in the city, so this week I have been trying to make do with what I have and work on the editing more.

Long Exposure 2

Long Exposure 2 For this week, we were tasked with a similar job as to last week. We had to continue to take long exposure photos, and improve on last weeks batch. This week I focused more on making sure that the background in the pictures were in focus and not blurry. I also wanted to try and take some new types of pictures, however, it was not too easy. I found that bright colors make the pictures a little more interesting and add another nice dynamic.

Long Exposure

Long Exposure For this weeks project we were tasked with the job of creating long exposure pictures. We did this by setting the shutter speed on the cameras very low so that the shutter would stay open for longer. The problem with this is that it allows more light in to the camera so it is important to either have a light filter or to shoot in a darker space, both of which we did. The first day we were just experimenting with different methods and different settings on the camera, and on the second day we focused on more specific details. This project involved a lot of trail and error in order to figure out what pictures would work well and which ones wouldn't.

Double Exposure

Double Exposure  This week we were assigned the task of creating pictures that were 'dreamlike'. We did this through using old pictures and reediting them to make them work for this project. I found that layering copies of the same picture and moving them around a little created a really nice looking image. I found it hard at first thinking of ways to make the pictures, however I experimented with different methods and ended up finding a few that worked.
