Design Portraits

Image
Design Portraits  This week we worked on Design Portraits, these are essentially portraits that focus on the on the background, lighting and texture as much as they focus on the person. My goal main goal was focusing on light, shadow and texture in order to replicat e the work of Corbjin, however I ended up using light boxes and turned it into more of a still life project with the same goals of Light, Shadow, and Texture.

Pictorial Lines

This week we were creating pictures with Pictorial Lines, these involve Leading line, Arrangement and Decorative lines.   My main focus for Leading Lines was to look shadows that were created by or that lead to a subject. For Decorative lines I mainly focused on texture buildings and objects that helped strengthen the lines. My Arrangement pictures are a mix of different objects, but once again I used shadow to create most of the lines.  Leading Lines Decorative Arrangement

Still Life

Still Life This week we worked on Still Life, we used various objects and set them up inside light boxes. I felt that objects that had interesting texture and bright colors made for better pictures, some of the objects I used were flowers, light bulbs, and shells, and toy figures. I used both the macro and telephoto attachments, but found better results with the macro as it allowed me to highlight the texture of the objects.

Abstracts

Abstracts This weeks topic was Abstracts, as our first real project of the year there was not much of a process we went through when it came to taking and editing. All of the pictures are posted in black and white as the absence of color adds to the mystery and 'abstractness' of each photo.  One of my main goals for these was to focus on the texture and to use the texture to create the 'abstractness'.
